Psalm 91 Verse 16

Psalm 91:16 With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.

Part 1: With long life I will satisfy him

In Genesis 6:3 the LORD declared that mankind’s days shall be one hundred and twenty years. Are you prepared in your heart and mind to live a long and satisfied life in Him?

Proverbs 18:21 tells us death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. The “it” in this verse is life or death. I know it’s hard to imagine that a person could love death but I have seen many people where sin and death is their main topic of discussion. Our body and our soul respond to the words we speak. Do you say things like, “I am getting too old for this” or “I am having a senior moment”?

Listen to the words in Psalm 103. This wonderful passage demonstrates the Word of Life that God has given us to speak to ourselves. It is God’s desire for us to live long, strong and satisfied holding fast to the Word of Life.

Psalm 103:1-5
Bless the LORD, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

As we worship the Lord and speak life, every cell, all that is within us, is being renewed and strengthened. Romans 8:11 confirms this, “the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Life is living in you!

Part 2: And show him My salvation

The saints of old could only see salvation afar off. They were unable to experience the indwelling of the Holy Spirit because Jesus had not yet come. One of the missions of the Holy Spirit is to reveal to us the wonderful salvation that has been provided for us. He is showing us His salvation.  1 Corinthians 2:12 says now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

Romans 8:32 tells us, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” Salvation includes all the blessings of God. He is not holding anything back. He is all in.

How about you?
